12 Days of Christmas gift tags - free chart

Hello stitchy friends!

Its day three of free charts :)

Green cross stitch Christmas tag

Our free chart today is of some festive ivy. There's also a backstitch alphabet included so that you can stitch names, greetings etc onto your tag. Just chart out the names you want to stitch on the graph paper in the download to make sure your spacing and positioning is exactly what you want.

I stitched our names on the tag, but as you can see there's plenty room for more names. Don't like doing French knots? The simply miss them off....the design will still look fab.

This is another design that you can use any green thread from your stash....don't you just love being able to use up those odds and ends of threads? :) If you look closely at the design you can see that it is a repeat pattern so you can make the tag as big (or as small!) as you need/want.

Ivy cross stitch made as a gift tag

You can even make this design into a bookmark! Just repeat the design to the length you want as a bookmark.

For this tag, I prepared the stitching with iron-on interfacing as before, then glued it to some green card then some white card. This was then glued to some green card that I had cut to a 'tag' shape. I cut some white ribbon and popped it through the hole at the top of the tag and then tied some bakers' twine round and made a little bow.

Time to look out those green threads!
