Free Chart: Lost in a Book!

A cross stitch bookmark says "Lost in a book" and includes a stack of books.

My husband and I recently started our own little book club so that we could chat all things books. We made a booktube channel, too - just for fun! (If you don't know, Booktube is a 'corner' of YouTube where people share what they're reading, book reviews, and more). So right now, we're doing LOTS of reading... and naturally, that means we need lots of bookmarks!

In my opinion, there's nothing better than a cross stitched bookmark. They're so pretty!

This "Lost in a Book" free cross stitch chart is an easy and fairly quick project. I designed it in purples and greeny-blues, but you can change the colors if you would like. I'd love to see this pattern in pinks and oranges... or maybe even shades of brown and burgundy! The different colors would create a totally different feel!

What you'll need to create this bookmark:

  • The free cross stitch chart located at the end of this post

  • Embroidery thread/floss (view the chart for colors to purchase, or you can buy a big bundle like this one if you'd like to pick your own colors)

  • 14-count Aida

  • Scissors (I LOVE vintage-looking ones... so pretty!)

  • Felt for finishing (optional)

If you're new to cross stitch (or just need to stock up), I recommend getting a bunch of colors in one go so that you can play around to see what you would like. I really like this DMC assorted color bundle. (Note: This post includes affiliate links - thank you for your support!)

Once you've stitched your "Lost in a Book" bookmark chart, don't forget to submit a photo to be displayed on the Crafters' Corner of our website for other stitchers and crafters to admire!

That's all for now. I'm sure you'll see a few more bookmark patterns from me over the coming months. Happy stitching!
