May Subscriber's extra chart

For our extra chart this month, I'm keeping to the 'Santa's coal' theme, and have another fun chart that can be stitched up quickly and used in a variety of ways.

This is another design that can be stitched in a variety of colors. You can change the lettering to greens or blues or whatever matches your Christmas decor or what threads you have in your stash (you can also change the black to another colour too, I'm just assuming that everyone has black in their stash :) )

So, how to finish this design? Well, however you fancy! You can finish it in a hoop to match the North Pole Coal Co. design, or as a little pillow type finish...

...or a drawstring bag... or any other kind of bag! :)

For the bags that I have shown, I just stitched the design on a long strip of Aida then whizzed up the edges with the sewing machine... I decided to live dangerously and just just wing it and not follow a pattern :)

Another idea for using this design is making it into a gift tag - if you stitch the design on18 count Aida the finished size will be 2.3" x 1.9" / 5.9cm x 4.8cm so would be a nice size for a larger gift tag.

I hope this post has given you a few ideas on how to finish off your stitching - and once you've stitched the Santa Claus Coal Company design don't forget that you can submit a photo for our Crafters Corner - we love to see your stitching!

Happy stitching!

-Rhona
